A plastic model of the Soviet SU-122 self-propelled gun in 1:100 scale. A small kit for a collection or for the gaming table.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SU-122 was a Soviet self-propelled gun of the Second World War built on the chassis of the T-34 medium tank. Instead of a rotating turret it carried a fixed armored superstructure, into which the designers built a 122 mm howitzer. The weapon had a low muzzle velocity, so the vehicle was not built for duels with tanks at long range but for destroying fortifications and firing positions, that is, for the direct support of advancing infantry and tanks.
A model of the vehicle in 1:100 scale. It is a small scale in which whole units are collected and in which tabletop games with vehicle models are played, so the model stands out in a formation rather than alone on a shelf. The number of parts, the building procedure and the recommended color scheme are given by the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
At a small scale what decides the outcome is cleanliness of work. Cut the excess material left from manufacture away a little from the part and sand the area, because a remnant at a joint shows here more than on a large model. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise it will fill the fine engraved detail. A final emphasis of the edges with a dry brush and a light soiling of the underside of the vehicle do more service at this scale than detailed shading of the surfaces.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
