1:16 Czechoslovak helmet vz. 32 (detail) is an accessory for figures in the large 1:16 scale, the Czechoslovak vz. 32 pattern steel helmet. It is not a whole figure but a part to fit and paint.

This is an accessory for figures in the large 1:16 scale, not a model and not a whole figure. The vz. 32 helmet is a rewarding subject: it makes it possible to build a Czechoslovak theme that appears only rarely among the figures manufacturers make. In 1:16 the part is large enough for careful cleanup and painting to come into their own. The word detail in the name sets this variant apart from the basic version of the same helmet, which the manufacturer makes as a separate item.
The vz. 32 pattern steel helmet was taken into service in the Czechoslovak army in the 1930s and replaced older types taken over from abroad. It has a rounded bowl with a short, slightly drawn-in edge and a simple liner with a chin strap. Besides the home service it was also produced for customers abroad, so a theme outside the home setting can be built with it too. It is easy to recognize by shape and on a figure it settles at once which army is meant.
Clear the part of casting remnants and flash, level the mating surface and degrease the surface. Try the fit on the figure's head dry and, if need be, sand the inside slightly, so that the helmet sits naturally and is not set too high. Glue it with cyanoacrylate glue, fill the gap with putty or modeling putty and sand it over. Apply a thin primer before painting. The surface of real helmets was matte, so keep the gloss down. After a base khaki or gray-green tone a dark wash toward the edge and the strap and fine wear on the edges will help. Set the chin strap apart in a leather shade, otherwise the whole helmet will merge into one surface.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Paints, glue, putty and the figure itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
