This is a 3D-printed resin modeling accessory in 1:16 scale that reproduces the German M35/40 steel helmet faithfully. It is not an aircraft or vehicle kit but a standalone piece meant to complete figures, busts and dioramas. The manufacturer is the Czech brand Firma49.
The M35 steel helmet was one of the typical items of German equipment in the Second World War. The later reworked version, the M40, had a simplified production process and pressed ventilation holes. The shape of the helmet is still one of the most recognizable military symbols of the period.
First wash any print resin residue off the parts and cut away the print supports. Before sanding or drilling it pays to warm the resin in hot water so that it does not crumble. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sanding calls for respiratory protection. A filler primer followed by ordinary modeling paints is recommended.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
