This item is not a kit of a vehicle or of a figure. It is a detail accessory: a set of miniature padlocks in the large 1:16 scale from Firma49, which a modeler adds to a scene already under way. A large scale is kind to such elements, because a padlock on a gate or on a crate really is visible from an ordinary viewing distance.
A padlock belongs among the objects a viewer expects in a scene even without realizing it. The locked gate of a workshop, a chain across an entrance, a closed shipping crate or a cabinet in a garage – everywhere there a small lock gives the composition logic. At the same time it is a rewarding element for telling a story: an open padlock hanging on its staple hints that someone has just got into the space.
Work with tweezers with fine jaws and prepare the piece on a light surface so that you do not lose it. Apply the primer thinly so that the edges and the fine relief do not fill up. The metal look stands out when, after the base coat, you accent the edges with a dry brush and run a dark wash into the recesses. Keep rust and greasy dirt in check; with such a small object a hint is enough.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and is not enough to build a model on its own; it assumes you already have a scene under way.
