A large injection-molded plastic model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw.VI Tiger II in its early form with the so-called Porsche turret (Fgst.Nr.280009) in the large 1:16 scale from the Trumpeter brand. The large scale means imposing size and exceptional detail. According to the manufacturer, the package offers a worked-out interior (the driver's compartment, the fighting compartment and the engine compartment), photo-etched sheet, a metal barrel, a metal cable and individual track links.
The Tiger II, designated at the time in German as the Königstiger, meaning King Tiger, was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with heavy frontal armor and a long 88 mm gun. The early machines carried a turret with a rounded front, commonly called the Porsche turret, which was fitted to the first hulls built before a simplified production turret replaced it. The particular machine Fgst.Nr.280009 belongs among these early pieces.
In the large 1:16 scale the interior detail comes into its own, so paint the crew and engine compartments before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched and metal parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). After spraying the primer and the airbrush paint, bring the large area of the tank to life with a wash and with pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
