An accessory for builders of 1:16 models of German wheeled equipment. You swap the pair of wheels given in the name for the kit parts and get a tire that is trodden out at the bottom under the weight of the vehicle. The difference shows mainly from the side and at camera eye level, where a circular silhouette gives away at once that the model weighs nothing. The type designation specifies the tread pattern, so you can choose the combination that suits your photographic subject.
The heart of this eight-wheeler was an air-cooled twelve-cylinder diesel of Czech design. The choice was no accident: the machine was created with an eye to desert battlefields, where liquid cooling and the hunt for water would have caused trouble. Before series production got going, however, the fighting in North Africa ended and the vehicles entered service elsewhere. The diesel engine stayed with them nevertheless and, together with a large tank, gave the vehicle a range that tracked equipment never knew.
Never paint the tires in pure black: a dark gray tone suits them, which is then brightened with a dry brush and lightly dusted with pigment to match the setting. The trodden patch tends to be rubbed bare or, on the contrary, clogged with mud, depending on where you place the vehicle.
The parts are supplied raw, without paints and glue.
