Four sheets of masks for the markings of the Tiger I heavy tank in 1:16 scale. The richest set in its range in terms of the number of sheets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tiger I heavy tank carried its numbers on the turret in a form the painters of other armies did not bother with: not a solid numeral, but an outline of two lines, with the base left bare inside or with a color contrasting with the hull. It is precisely the outline number that is the hardest discipline for a modeler. In the large 1:16 scale a thin line cannot be drawn reliably with a brush, and a decal on a grainy surface gives itself away by the glossy frame around every figure.
The set carries four masks for the national insignia, and within the manufacturer's 1:16 range that is the largest number. It makes it possible to work on an outline numeral really properly: one part defines the outer edge, a second holds the inside of the numeral, and the rest are left for the crosses and the additional items on the sides and the rear. You therefore do not have to peel items off and use them again, which never ends well with adhesive film.
Set out your procedure according to how many colors the marking has. First spray the shade that is to form the inside or the outline, let it go through its whole drying, and only then lay down the second layer of masks. Pressing down does half the work: run the edge of a toothpick over the film and be especially careful across welds and rivets. Lay the paint on from the edge toward the center, not the other way round; that lowers the risk of the stream driving paint under the edge. Lift them off slowly and at an angle close to the surface. Finally unify the markings lightly with a filter, so that they do not shine more than the surrounding plate.
