An injection-molded plastic kit of the British light tracked Universal Carrier Mk.I in the large 1:16 scale from the manufacturer Gecko Models. Despite the small subject it is a decently large and detailed model: it contains armament (a Bren machine gun and Enfield rifles), photo-etched parts, individual movable track links, an elaborate driver's and crew compartment and a choice of three headlight configurations.
The Universal Carrier, popularly known as the Bren Gun Carrier, was a small fully tracked armored personnel carrier of the British and allied armies during the Second World War. It was built in large numbers and served to carry a crew, a machine gun and light weapons, and as a tractor and a reconnaissance vehicle. Thanks to its low silhouette, its agility and its simple design it became one of the most widespread light vehicles of the Allies.
An open hull means the interior is very visible - paint it and fit the armament before you finish. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Panel highlighting will bring the British bronze green to life; mud and dust effects with washes and pigments will give the vehicle realistic weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
