A figure in 1:16 scale on the theme of the May Uprising of 1945. The large scale gives room for careful painting of the face and the clothing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The May Uprising of 1945 meant several days of street fighting, barricades and improvised defense in the streets of the towns. The subject aims at precisely those days and at the radio appeal that called on Czechs for help at the time. For a modeler it is a Czech theme and one not often done, with which it makes sense to give attention even to small things.
The 1:16 scale corresponds for an adult figure to a height of around eleven centimeters. At such a size the shape of the face, the folds of the cloth and small items of equipment are visible, so the figure will carry far finer painting than small scales. At the same time it is big enough to stand up on its own in a display case.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is worth painting the head and the hands before the final gluing, while they are accessible from all sides. Work from the basic tone toward the shadows and the highlights, and on the face in this scale work in thin coats and patiently. The figure stands out well on a base with paving or a piece of barricade, which gives it a setting.
The set is for modelers with an interest in Czech history and for those who take the painting of figures as the main part of a build. Paints, brushes and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
