The figure 1:18 Show Girl (B) from Hobby Design represents a show girl to go with cars in 1:18 scale, for example on an exhibition stand.
Responsibility details are not available.
This character from the Show Girl line of the maker Hobby Design is carried in 1:18 scale. The letter B sets it apart from the other figures in the same line. The subject matches the setting of motor shows, where show girls accompany the cars on display.
Anyone building an motor show scene needs three things: a clean base with a sheen, a simple background and a human figure to set the size. It is exactly the third point that tends to be the hardest to come by at this scale. A figure at the front corner of a car, turned slightly toward the passers-by, creates the impression of a presentation under way without your having to build a whole hall. One display sign or a stand with a board is enough for that, and the scene is done.
With exhibition scenes it pays to watch the difference in sheen: a body tends to be highly glossy, while the character is matte, otherwise both come across as plastic from a single mold. So finish the clothing off with a matte overcoat and keep the gloss only for the accessories, the shoes or a piece of jewelry. The base under the feet can take a polished surface, which mirrors the silhouette and gives the scene depth. The difference in sheen is moreover visible in a photograph too, where a matte surface swallows the reflection of a flash.
The pose of the figure and the contents of the package are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
