1:20 Robogang is an original resin figure set from Alternity Miniatures in 1:20 scale. It is supplied as a casting to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A new figure release from the original production of Alternity Miniatures in the larger 1:20 scale. The subject moves in a robotic and science-fiction register, which in the painting opens up possibilities other than a classic figure: plenty of metal, wear, electronic details and surfaces on which color transitions and weathering alike stand out.
Among figure formats the 1:20 scale is fairly generous. Detail that would merge in a 32 mm or a 1:35 format has room here: rivets, cabling, scuffs on the edges. At the same time it is still a piece that fits into an ordinary display case. Check the contents once the package is open.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface. Cut the casting blocks away with a fine saw, level the surfaces with a file and abrasive paper, and with resin work wet rather than dry and with protection of your breathing. Glue with super glue and fill the gaps with filler. Apply a thin primer before painting. On robotic and mechanical subjects a procedure from dark to light pays off: a darker base, gradually lighter metallic tones on the edges with a dry brush or thin coats, and a wash into the recesses to emphasize the articulation. Do the scuffs sparingly and only where wear would really arise, that is, on the edges, around the handles and in the places of contact. A richer accent of color on one element will help the set gain a focal point. At the end unify the sheen with varnish according to how worn an impression you want.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
