This self-adhesive tint film from the SX-Art brand is prepared for the glazing of a model of the GAZ Tigr-M light armored car in 1:35 scale. In English the vehicle is also given as Tiger-M; it is the same type. The film is stuck straight onto the clear moldings of the kit and replaces spraying clear tinting paints. This is not a kit: the model of the vehicle itself has to be obtained separately.
The Tigr-M is the upgraded variant of the Russian light armored car with all-wheel drive. It serves for reconnaissance, liaison and carrying crews, and for armament it tends to have a weapon station or a pintle-mounted machine gun. Against the base version it differs among other things in the power unit and in details of the hull. The armored glass of the cab is thick and laminated, so on the real vehicle it never looks like a clear window.
Wash and degrease the clear part, as the film will not hold on a greasy surface. Lift the piece off with tweezers, do not touch the adhesive side with your fingers and lay it on dry first. Once the position is lined up, press it down with a soft stick or a cotton swab from the center toward the edges, so that the air is squeezed out. It is most comfortable to tint the clear parts before they are glued into the hull. Varnishing over the film is not advisable, as the glass would lose the gloss the set is used for.
