Holographic film Object 490B 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the blind plastic glass of the instruments on a model of the Soviet experimental tank with a transparent glossy surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
Clear film for the vision blocks and the glass of the optical instruments on a model of the Soviet experimental tank Object 490B. It is neither a model nor a conversion but a final detail, which is set into the cleaned seat left by the plastic part.
The most frequent mistake is to fit the film early. It belongs right at the end, after the primer, the top color, the varnish under the decals, the decals themselves, the matte overcoat and also after the wash and the pigments. Any spray that lands on it kills the gloss irretrievably, and film that has been varnished over cannot be cleaned. If the fitting cannot be put off, cover the surface with masking fluid or an exactly cut piece of tape and remove it only once the last coat of varnish has dried. Watch out in the same way for a wash creeping in; around the frame it is best applied deliberately with a brush rather than over the whole area.
Object 490B belongs among the Soviet development studies of a main battle tank that never reached series production. They explored unconventional arrangements of the hull and of crew protection, and that is exactly why they are a rewarding subject among modelers.
