An extended set of precisely shaped masks in fine kabuki masking film for the plastic model of the de Havilland Vampire FB.5/FB.9 jet fighter in 1:48 scale. The EXPERT version goes beyond the basic set: besides the canopy glazing and the wheels it adds masks for the inner side of the canopy, the sealing strips and further fine areas. It is an accessory for painting, not a kit.

The real subject

The de Havilland Vampire was a first-generation British jet fighter with a characteristic twin-boom tail and a short fuselage. The fighter-bomber versions FB.5 and FB.9 served with the Royal Air Force and with a number of other operators. Its rounded canopy is a rewarding place for masking.

Use

• Peel the masks off the sheet and stick them onto the glazing, the wheels and the detail areas according to the numbering in the instructions.
• The EXPERT version makes it possible to mask the inner side of the canopy and the sealing strips as well.
• Spray the color of the inner frames first, then the outer shade.
• Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully.
