The set is an accessory to a model, not the model itself. It contains pre-cut masks of kabuki type paper masking tape for a model of the American AC-130J Ghostrider ground-attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The EXPERT designation defines the scope of the sheet: with the New Ware brand it is the most complete of the three levels offered, while BASIC and ADVANCED cover a smaller number of elements.
A four-engine transport airframe has extensive cockpit glazing made up of many panes, and in 1:72 scale the frames between them are as thin as a hair. Cutting tape by hand to such a width is slow, and a single hesitation with the scalpel shows up as a crooked frame across the whole cockpit. A cut mask keeps a constant width even where a hand would necessarily waver, and that is the main reason it pays off in small scales even more than in large ones.
The AC-130J Ghostrider is an American ground-attack aircraft derived from the transport machine of the C-130J series. It is intended to support ground forces while circling a target, and for that it carries weapon systems and extensive sensor equipment. It serves with special operations forces and differs from the ordinary transport version above all in the fit-out and the equipment of the fuselage, while the basic outline of the airframe stays the same.
A more extensive sheet means more small parts, so sort them before sticking them on and work with fine-tipped tweezers. Degrease the transparent parts, seat the mask dry and press it down with a soft stick from the center outward, so that no air stays under it. Lay the interior color of the frames on first. With multicolor finishes keep the order from light to dark and take the mask off only after the last covering coat, but before the final flattening.
