An early mantlet and a 75 mm M3 barrel for the M4 Sherman 1:35 from PANZER ART. The set is cut for the Tasca and Asuka kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement assembly for the front of the turret of a model of the American M4 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale. It contains a turned 75 mm M3 gun barrel and a resin mantlet in the early, narrower version. The set is cut for the Tasca and Asuka kits, which on this item is an essential piece of information, because the same pair of parts is also released in a variant for other kits. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory replacing parts of the base model.
The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War and was built in enormous numbers for the US Army and for the Allies. The early vehicles carried a 75 mm gun, a universal weapon good against infantry, fortifications and the tanks of the day. The front of the turret changed during production: the early vehicles had a narrower mantlet, while later ones received a wider version that covered the weapon opening better. This detail is one of the most conspicuous distinguishing marks between the early and the late appearance of the vehicle.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water so that mold release residue disappears. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the mating surface, and do the sanding with respiratory protection. They are glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Before gluing, dry-fit how the mantlet sits in the turret face. The cast surface of the mantlet stands out when, after the base coat, you pick it out with a dark penetrating coat and a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
