An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian supercar in 1:24 scale from the Japanese maker Aoshima. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the number of parts, the package contents and the extent of the decals are given on the box and in the instructions. The number in the name is the sequence number in the maker's model line, not part of the car's name.
The Aventador LP700-4 is the top model of the Lamborghini marque, presented in 2011 as the successor to the Murciélago. The designation describes the technology of the car: LP refers to the longitudinally mounted engine ahead of the rear axle, the number to the power in horsepower and the four to all-wheel drive. The power unit is a naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12, that is an engine without forced induction, which is a rarity today. The load-bearing structure is a carbon-fiber composite monocoque to which aluminum frames are attached. The suspension is derived from designs used in racing cars. Visually the car is defined by sharp edges, a wedge silhouette and the scissor doors that open upwards, part of the tradition of the marque's top V12 models.
A supercar lives off its finish. The body has many sharp edges on which the paint is easily sanded through, so go carefully when sanding the seams and preferably work wet with fine paper. Rich shades, metallics and pearl finishes suit this type of car. With metallic paints the pigment settles at the bottom, so stir the paint thoroughly, apply it in several thin coats and let it dry, as oversparying metallic paint is a thankless job. A final gloss coat and polishing give the surface the depth the model needs. Build and paint the interior and the engine bay separately before you close the body. Dry-fit the scissor doors and any glazing over the engine and glue them only after painting, otherwise you will not reach the parts. Glue the windows with cement for clear plastic and do the black window frames by masking or with a fine brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
