1:24 BMW M3 E30 Team Alpina

Markings of the BMW M3 E30 in the colors of Team Alpina, 1:24 scale

A decal set for a model of the BMW M3 E30 in the Alpina team version. It completes a finished plastic model with the visual identity of a company that decades of joint work connect with the Munich carmaker.

Who Alpina is

Alpina is based in Buchloe in Bavaria. It first concentrated on improving production cars and soon reached the starting line of touring car racing as well, where its machines are recognizable by their corporate striping and their unmistakable lettering on the flanks. A model of the M3 built to this scheme therefore does not look like one of many cars on the grid but like the calling card of a particular brand with a hand of its own. For a builder it is a pleasant change from overloaded liveries full of small sponsors.

Before you reach for the tweezers

• Line the long stripes across the flank up by the bottom edge of the doors, not by the sill.
• Work over a light surface, so that small lettering does not get lost on the floor.
• Once dry, go over the whole thing with clear varnish, and the edges of the livery will disappear.
• Around the handles and mirrors, gentle warming helps and the material will lie down without a crease.

Who the set is for

• Fans of German conversions and of corporate color schemes.
• Builders who prefer a readable scheme with no hundreds of small logos.
• Collectors of E30 models looking for a version outside the works teams.

It is an accessory in its own right. The model of the car, varnishes and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
