On BMW cars the individual wheel patterns are designated by the word Styling and a sequential number. The number 437 therefore does not give the size but the spoke pattern; the size has its own figure in the name. According to the name the set is for the M4, that is the sporting version of the 4 Series, and a nineteen-inch diameter matches a modern car.
Wheels in 1:24 scale and tires to go with them in the standard version, that is without the changes made for low-slung builds. The inch figure refers to the real car: nineteen inches is 482.6 mm, which in 1:24 scale works out to a wheel rim diameter of roughly twenty millimeters.
Assemble the wheel dry and try it in the wheel arch before you reach for glue. Parts that are not polystyrene are joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not work on them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder down so that the mating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease the parts and apply a primer before painting. The spoke pattern stands out when a darker shade is drawn into the recesses and the edges are then lightly gone over with a dry brush.
