1:24 Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib decals with the car door canopy from the British manufacturer Xtradecal. A standalone decal sheet for a large-scale model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:24 scale for the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter-bomber in its early form with side canopy doors. This is not a kit but a standalone set of decals with which you complete a model you have already bought. Xtradecal is a British specialist in decals and prints its sheets on a thin carrier film with solid print registration.
The Typhoon was originally intended as an interceptor, but it made its name chiefly as a ground-attack aircraft. The early production machines had a cockpit with fixed framing and car-type side doors; only the later form received a sliding bubble canopy with better visibility. The early variant therefore differs from the later machines not only in the shape of the cockpit but also in the form and the placement of the markings, which matters for the choice of decals.
In 1:24 scale the decals are large and fold back on themselves easily during transfer. Leave them in the water only long enough for the film to release from the backing, then lay the whole decal onto the model together with the paper and draw the paper out from underneath it, so that the large area does not roll up. The base has to be glossy, clean and perfectly dry; on a matte varnish a silvered veil will form under the film. Squeeze the excess water out with a soft flat brush from the center toward the edges, and not with a cloth, which would drag the decal. Once it is completely dry, go over the model with a matte or semi-matte varnish so that the edges of the film disappear.
The package contains the decal sheet only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
