Mazda Familia XG, known on the export markets as the 323, in the form of a plastic kit in 1:24.
Responsibility details are not available.
This model steps out of the line of sports coupes that Japanese makers offer most often. The real subject is an ordinary family hatchback: the Mazda Familia in the XG equipment, sold outside Japan under the name 323. It was precisely cars like this that formed the everyday traffic of the 1980s, and in a cabinet full of racing specials it comes across pleasantly differently.
The generation introduced in 1980 meant a fundamental turn for the Familia: the carmaker went over to front-wheel drive and to angular, roomy shaping. The car became a commercial success at once and in Japan it won the home car of the year award. The XG equipment belonged among the popular grades and in many countries the same car was sold as the 323, or else under further local names. The compact dimensions, the simple technology and the low weight made it a typical representative of its class.
An angular body is painted more easily than coupes complicated in shape, but all the more do the flat surfaces and their transitions stand out. It therefore pays off to devote time to sanding and to an even spray. A civilian car comes across credibly when the gloss is not overdone; a finely satin surface matches an ordinary car better than a mirror paint. Details such as the window frames, the door handles and the radiator grille decide the resulting impression more than on sporting models.
Without the modeler's work the set stays a collection of parts; the assembly and the spraying are up to the builder.
