A kit of the first-generation Celica coupe in the 1600GTV level, which Hasegawa has released in a special boxing for the anniversary of the animated series Mecha-Doc. Matsu-Kiri-Bozu is the name under which the car appears in the story.
The first Celica appeared at the beginning of the 1970s as an attainable sports coupe for the Japanese market and tends to be likened to American cars of the pony car class. The GTV level was built on the 1.6-liter unit with twin overhead camshafts and on a stiffer chassis setup. Against the richly equipped GT it was a lightened variant focused on driving. The Mecha-Doc series told of a bunch of car mechanics and of the cars that passed through their hands, and in the Japanese modeling community it holds a firm place to this day.
A classic coupe stands or falls with its paint, so a base, sanding between the coats and polishing pay back the most here. Lay the decals on a dry gloss surface and help yourself with a softener. Leave the bright frames around the windows and the bumpers until the close rather, so that they are not scratched along the way. Treat the interior in period fashion; dark upholstery with lighter stitching looks convincing.
This is a set of parts for a modeler; a finished vehicle in the box is not to be expected.
