This is not a model of the car as such; what you will hold in your hand is a collection of refining extras for the Skyline of the R31 generation. The set is cut for the Hasegawa 21129 kit in 1:24 scale. The manufacturer does not publish a list of the contents of the package, so you will not find one here either.
The GTS-R is a homologation special that Nissan built in a limited series for the sake of Group A touring car racing. A turbocharged inline six with a reworked induction, a striking front wing and austere equipment give away that this was racing equipment with a license plate. In the pedigree of the Skylines the R31 stands directly between the revered classics and the later phenomenon of the GT-R of the R32 generation, and precisely for that reason collectors and modelers are discovering it ever more often; built examples are still met with sparsely in display cases.
The angular body of the eighties will reveal every unevenness: bring the seams after gluing out with a fine wash or with pencil graphite, so that the lines of the panels stand out. Fit the extras according to photographs of the real car; you will find plenty of period shots in the literature devoted to Japanese touring cars. Work in small steps and look the result over at a distance every evening.
