Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an airplane kit but a photo-etched accessory set from the Czech firm Eduard of Obrnice. It is intended for the large Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc model in 1:24 scale and concerns the landing flaps on the trailing edge of the wing.
On models, landing flaps usually come as solid plastic parts faired into the wing. But in 1:24 scale their thickness is unreal at first glance and the inside of the flap bay is practically non-existent. Photo-etched sheet makes it possible to show the flap at a thickness correct for the scale and to reveal the structure underneath it: ribs, stiffeners and the mechanism. On the Spitfire that is particularly rewarding, because its flaps are often shown lowered when parked, so they are conspicuously visible on the model.
Before you start, decide whether you want the flaps lowered or retracted; how much plastic you will have to cut out of the wing depends on that. Make the cut gradually with a knife and a file and keep trying the fit dry. Cut the parts off the fret against a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool. Glue with super glue and use a primer intended for metal. Paint the inside of the flap bay and bring it out with a wash before you seat the flap for good.
This is an accessory set, not an airplane model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
