Hobby Design 1:24 detail-up parts for the Toyota GR86 turn a production-looking coupe into the guise of a car with the racing package of a Japanese studio. Meant for the Tamiya kit 24361.
Responsibility details are not available.
These are Hobby Design accessories, not a complete car. The parts match the modification by a Japanese racing studio that has worked with Toyota since the 1970s and whose package changes mainly the look of the front, the sides and the rear. The package serves to move a production-looking coupe closer to a circuit guise without the shape of the body having to be touched. The target kit is the Tamiya 24361.
The Toyota GR86 of the second generation is a compact coupe with drive to the rear wheels, which comes about in cooperation with Subaru. Under the hood it has a flat four-cylinder with a displacement of 2.4 liters, set low for the sake of the center of gravity. The car is popular in drifting and in amateur circuit series exactly because it can be modified affordably, is easy to handle and forgives mistakes at the wheel.
Lay the body accessories on dry and mark in pencil where material will have to be taken off. Bring out the dividing seam between the part and the body with a scriber, so that it does not disappear after painting. Apply gloss varnish in thin coats and leave a sufficient pause between them. Fix the smaller parts with cyanoacrylate glue with an extended setting time; that gains you time for straightening the position. Finally even the transitions between the accessory and the paint of the body out with a light polish.
