The Cresta was created as a relative of the other sedans on the same platform, but it was sold through a separate dealer network and aimed at customers who preferred a plainer, slightly more formal line. The Super Lucent grade was one of the better-equipped versions and the 3.0 designation refers to the strongest six-cylinder engine offered in this class. It is exactly this side-by-side existence of three very similar yet distinguishable sedans that is one of the reasons these cars are popular with collectors: they can be built as a whole family.
