1:24 Type 63 rocket launcher is a separately packed set of parts for building the Chinese twelve-barrel rocket launcher in 107 mm caliber. Neither a towing nor a carrier vehicle is part of it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set presents the weapon itself: a cluster of twelve barrels in 107 mm caliber on a light two-wheeled carriage with folding supports. It is worked out in the single 1:24 scale, that is in the size in which passenger and utility vehicles are commonly built. That opens the interesting possibility of building an improvised fighting vehicle out of a simple van or pickup.
The Type 63 came into being in China at the beginning of the 1960s as a light area weapon for infantry units. Its main advantage was its low weight and the possibility of taking the whole thing apart into several loads which could be carried on backs or on the back of a pack animal into terrain with no roads. The system spread all over the world, a number of countries copied it, and to this day it appears in all kinds of forms, from a towed carriage to individual barrels welded onto the bed of an off-road vehicle.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent before applying the paint and let them dry out thoroughly. The barrels stand out when their muzzles are darkened slightly and the whole thing is coated with a dust shade matching the setting chosen. The carriage deserves a hint of wear on the supports, which dig into the soil in the field.
Paints, glue and a vehicle are not supplied with this item.
