1:48 AS.11 Missile (2pcs)

AS.11 in 1:48 scale, a set of two missiles (LF Models)

The package holds a pair of AS.11 guided missiles in 1:48 scale. The set is an accessory for a modeler who is building a light helicopter in an armed configuration and wants to give it armament matching the real subject. The resin parts hold the thin lifting surfaces and the small details that are characteristic of a missile of this type.

The real subject

The AS.11 is a French air-to-surface guided missile of the 1950s, wire-guided, which the operator watches and corrects right to the end of its flight. It was carried above all by light helicopters, among them machines of the Alouette family, and it spread to other users of French equipment as well. In modeling practice it is one of the first stores that gives a light helicopter a clearly armed look, because it is hung on the side outriggers beside the cabin. The larger related missile of the same family is the AS.12.

Tips for working with the set

• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface
• Cut the casting blocks away with a scalpel and level the surface with fine sandpaper
• Do the sanding wet and with your airways protected
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and try the joint on the outrigger dry beforehand
• The thin surfaces of the missile are fragile, so paint the parts only once they are fitted on the outrigger

Who the set is for

The set suits modelers of helicopters in 1:48 scale who want armament with a particular type designation instead of a generic store. Because the resin parts are small, it is an accessory for more experienced builders. Two pieces match the usual symmetrical fit on the sides of the machine.
