Open service and emergency hatch for the Mi-8MT and Mi-17 in 1:48 scale is a resin accessory that replaces the closed hatch with a part in the open position.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin accessory for a helicopter model, not the model itself. It replaces the hatch that the production plastic part renders closed with a part in the open position. The set is meant for 1:48 scale and for machines of the Mi-8MT and Mi-17 family.
An open hatch is one of the simplest ways to bring a model to life. A closed fuselage reads as a sealed block; as soon as one panel is swung open, the machine takes on the look of equipment parked during maintenance. The opening also lets the eye inside, so it is worth at least suggesting the interior with paint and shadow. The casting has a thin wall that injection-molded plastic could not manage at the same thickness, which is exactly why hatches in the open position are made of resin.
Cut the part away from the casting block, wash it in lukewarm water with a little detergent to remove any mold release agent and let it dry. Test the opening in the fuselage dry first and seat the hatch at the angle the real machine has. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) holds the joint. Spray the inner face of the hatch and the edges of the opening before you seat the part, because a brush will not reach there afterward.
