The Sukhoi Su-25, Frogfoot under the NATO reporting name, is a single-seat attack aircraft meant for direct support of ground units. It first flew in the 1970s and its whole design puts the emphasis on toughness at low altitude: the cockpit is protected by a welded titanium tub, the key systems are duplicated and the aircraft is built to operate from simple surfaces. It carries gun armament and a wide range of external stores and serves in a number of countries to this day.
Covers of this type are in reality markedly red with white lettering. It therefore pays to paint them separately and to fit them to the model at the very end. A saturated red comes out better over a light base, so it is a good idea to lay white or light gray under it. Use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) for gluing and handle the parts with tweezers.
