An accessory set for models of the A-4 Skyhawk in 1:32 scale focused on the radar in the nose and on the electronic equipment. Meant for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Skyhawk came about as the smallest and lightest possible carrier-based attack aircraft, on which every kilogram was saved. Even so, equipment kept being added to it over the years: the radar sits in the nose ahead of the cockpit and further electronics moved into free places in the fuselage. It is precisely these spaces that tend to be only suggested on a kit, because not much of them is seen during the ordinary build of a closed model.
The set is focused on the radar section in the nose and on the electronic equipment. It therefore comes into its own mainly where you want to build the model with the nose exposed or with the panels opened and to show what is underneath. Which parts the package contains and exactly where they belong is described by the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not of polystyrene, so glue for plastic kits has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate glue, and a two-component one with larger surfaces. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. It is sensible to paint small inner parts still before the whole is glued together, because afterwards a brush will not reach them any more.
It suits modelers who are building a model with exposed sections in a large scale and want to have more than empty space under the covers. It calls for patience in seating small parts. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
