An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman A-6A Intruder carrier attack aircraft in the large 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. This large and detailed model offers a well worked out cockpit, engines and landing gear bays, wings that fold for stowage on an aircraft carrier and rich external stores. Clear parts and photo-etched metal accessories are included, and the landing gear can be chosen in a plastic or a metal version.
The Grumman A-6 Intruder was an American all-weather carrier attack aircraft deployed above all in the Vietnam War. It was a squat two-seat machine with side-by-side crew seats, for the pilot and the navigator or bombardier, and with advanced avionics that allowed accurate attacks on ground targets in any weather and at night as well. The A-6A version was the basic attack variant of this family.
In the large 1:32 scale it is advisable to assemble and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing the fuselage. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings spread or folded. Fine-tune and paint the rich external stores and the drop tanks separately. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the metal landing gear parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Treat the surface with a filler primer and apply the paint with an airbrush; mask the canopy glazing beforehand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
