This is an accessory set for a model of an aircraft, not a kit in its own right. According to the name it contains two pieces of the AGM-88 HARM missile, the LAU-118 launcher and an adapter that allows the assembly to be hung under a model of the Su-27 in 1:32 scale. Expect resin castings, which need the same preparation as any resin.

What the set is for

The AGM-88 HARM is an American anti-radiation guided missile. On a model you can recognize it by its slender body with forward control surfaces and four tail fins. The LAU-118 is a carried launcher through which the missile attaches to a station, and the adapter in the set deals with the mechanical transition to the station of an aircraft of Eastern design. For a model that means the possibility of building a less usual weapons configuration the base kit does not offer.

Building and painting tips

First wash the parts in warm water with a drop of dish soap, so that the remains of the release agent disappear from the surface; otherwise paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, never snap them, and sand the cuts; protect your airways while sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as ordinary cement for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a primer before painting, otherwise paint will adhere poorly to a smooth casting. Check the thin edges of the fins against the light before varnishing.
