Wheels of the late production series for the Avro Lancaster and the Avro Lincoln in 1:32. A universal Armory set with weighted tires for large models of British bombers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of replacement main wheels from the Armory brand that the designation of the product ties to the late production of the Lancaster and at the same time to its successor the Lincoln. The set is described as universal and the tires are shaped with weighting, that is with a flat patch at the point of contact with the ground.
The Avro Lincoln came directly out of the Lancaster: it received a longer wing and stronger engines and was intended for deployment against Japan. It did not make the war, however, and served only in the postwar years, besides Britain for example in Australia and Argentina. The shared design line means that a number of landing gear elements overlap between the two types, and that is why the manufacturer joined the late wheels of both machines into one item.
Late machines tend to be interesting for the combination of wear and postwar coats of paint, so take care over the patina. Fine dust applied with a dry brush suits the tread, while the hub can take a light polishing of the edges and a trace of oil around the axle. Before gluing, verify that both wheels stand in the same plane; with the span a bomber has in 1:32, every slight rotation shows conspicuously in the stance of the whole model. It also pays to let the landing gear legs harden properly before you stand the finished fuselage on them.
