A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the kit of the B-25H Mitchell bomber from HK Models in 1:32 scale, in the double-sided version. Besides masks for the outer side of the glazing it also holds parts for the inner side, so the frames visible from inside the cockpit can be sprayed as well. It is an accessory for a model; the aircraft itself is not included.
In 1:32 scale the cockpit is large and you can see inside through the glazing. Frames left in the shade of clear plastic give a model away at once — the real aircraft has the structure of the glazing painted on both sides, from inside as a rule in the interior shade. A double-sided set makes it possible to do this job properly: first you spray the inner frames, then the outer ones, and the result looks like real glass in a metal frame. On the B-25H, where the glazing runs from the nose across the upper turret to the tail station, it is a difference visible from every angle.
First clean and degrease the parts. Lift the mask with tweezers, set it on the glazing and press it down with a soft tool from the center toward the edges. Apply the inner masks before you fit the glazing into the fuselage. Spray the frames in thin coats; a thick coat of paint raises the risk of an edge tearing away when the mask is removed. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at an acute angle. Any adhesive residue will wipe off with lukewarm water.
