Belgium is one of the long-standing operators of the F-16, a single-engine multirole machine of Western manufacture. The set aims at a Belgian example in the rendition that carries the THE X TIGER designation; it is evidently one particular aircraft with bold artwork of its own rather than ordinary production camouflage.
According to the name the package contains both: sheets of decals and masking films. The combination makes sense with colorful renditions, where part of the color scheme is created by spraying and part is transferred by decal. The masks define the areas that are sprayed, and the decals add the insignia, lettering and fine motifs that would be painted by hand only with great difficulty.
The masking belongs on a clean and degreased surface before spraying; press the edges down well and apply the paint in thin coats. Remove the masks shortly after they have dried, and at a sharp angle. The decals are transferred only onto a smooth gloss base, or a matte shadow will appear under them around the outline. Before applying them, check in the manufacturer's instructions how the decals from this set are transferred, and follow that. Once dry, go over the whole thing with varnish, which joins the decal to the surrounding paintwork.
For builders of large F-16 models who want to build a striking Belgian example and do not want to paint the scheme freehand. The kit, paints, glue and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
