A figure of a British tanker loading 2-pounder ammunition, North Africa, No. 2, 1:35 scale is a resin figure from the maker PANZER ART. It completes pose No. 1 into a single working scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure in 1:35 for filling out a vehicle model or a diorama, not a kit of equipment. The second pose of the pair is built so that it follows on from the figure marked No. 1 and the two together form one activity.
While a single figure works on its own, this one is strongest as part of a pair: the figures hand a round to each other and the scene thereby gains direction and a sequence in time. The modeler therefore has extra work with the placing, as the hands and the turn of the torso have to line up to the millimeter. It pays to stick the figures onto a test board with double-sided tape first and look for the angle. The clothing is summer and thin, with dense shallow folds on the sleeves and behind the knees, the kind that movement creates rather than the weight of the fabric.
Once the mold release agent is washed off and the casting blocks are cut away, glue the figure with cyanoacrylate glue and fill the gaps. With a pair, paint both figures in parallel, or the shade of the uniform will drift apart. Proceed from the bottom up: the boots and the trousers first, then the shirt, and the hands and the head last. The hands deserve particular attention in this pose, because they carry the whole story of the scene: pull the knuckles out with a dry brush and let a thin wash into the palms. Apply the dust with pigment only on the footwear and the hem of the trousers. A matte clear coat at the end brings the surface together and fixes the pigment, so that it is not wiped off during handling.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The paints, the glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
