A detail accessory in resin for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 108 in 1:32 scale. This is not a kit but a replacement for the landing gear doors, which you fit into a model under construction. The Bf 108 was a four-seat touring and liaison low-wing monoplane of all-metal construction, which in its day was among the advanced machines of its category.
In reality the landing gear doors are thin sheet-metal parts. On a model they are visible from both sides, because the machine stands on its landing gear and the viewer usually bends down to it. For technological reasons injected plastic makes them thick, with a blunt edge that in a large scale gives away the scale of the material. A resin casting allows a markedly thinner edge and at the same time carries the internal structure on the back, which a plastic part often only suggests. The number of parts and the rest of the contents of the package are stated on the box.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water. Separate the thin surfaces from the casting block with a saw cut and finish them with wet sanding; sanding dry does not pay off, both because of the dust and because of the risk of bending the part. Before gluing, try dry how the door lines up with the outline of the bay and if necessary adjust the shape of the edge. Make the joint with super glue, ideally of a gel type, which gives time to fine-tune the position. For the inner side it is usually enough to paint it in the same shade as the bay, add a fine wash in the corners and a light dusty dirtying of the lower edge, which is closest to the ground.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
