Masks for spraying the national insignia on a Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-6 model in 1:32 scale, cut for Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf-109 G-6 is the most numerously built version of the late Messerschmitt. On the upper side of the front part of the fuselage it carries prominent bulges over the breeches of the fuselage weapons, by which it is recognized at first glance. In the large 1:32 scale both the intricate surface and the precision with which the insignia are transferred onto the model stand out.
The set contains national insignia masks cut for Revell kits in 1:32 scale. The insignia is therefore not stuck on but sprayed: on the model it arises directly out of the paint, with no carrier film, which with decals sometimes shows through or silvers on an intricate surface. The manufacturer's instructions give the exact placement of the insignia and the order of the steps, so go through them before painting.
Let the base coat dry thoroughly, degrease the area and press the mask down around its whole perimeter. Spray the paint in thin coats, otherwise it runs under the edge. With multicolor insignia you work in layers in order from light to dark, letting the individual steps dry. Lift the mask off with tweezers at a sharp angle before the paint has fully cured. Remove any adhesive residue on the surface carefully, preferably dry.
It suits a modeler who wants the insignia sharp and without a glossy edge, and also anyone planning rubs and wear on the model, because a sprayed insignia can be worked into just like the rest of the finish. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
