Art Scale 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 is a double-sided set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of a model from the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale. An accessory for painting, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the glazing of a Bf 109G-6 model in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an aid for painting. The name states the double-sided form, that is masks prepared for the outer and the inner side of the glass.
On a cockpit with pronounced framing, masking from the inside is the detail even a layman notices on a finished model. The frames face into the cockpit and should carry the interior color, not the camouflage showing through from outside. With inner masks the procedure goes like this: the glass is masked from the inside first, sprayed in the interior shade and only then glued into the fuselage. The inner masks have one more practical function, protecting the glass from the other side while you spray the cockpit or blow a dark primer into the fuselage. On a model with the canopy slid back, where the cockpit is visible, this difference is clearest. Anyone building a closed canopy usually gets by with the single-sided version, which the maker supplies separately.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 is one of the most widespread versions of the German single-seat fighter of the Second World War. The identifying mark of the version is the breech fairings of the fuselage guns ahead of the cockpit. The framing of the canopy differs between forms, which is why masks cut for the Tamiya kit have the advantage over a universal sheet.
The kit, paints and varnishes are not included. The number of mask parts and the film material are not stated here.
