Photo-etched accessories for the exterior of the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F in the F-2 and F-4 versions, 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is aimed at the exterior of the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F, specifically at the F-2 and F-4 versions in 1:32. Unlike cockpit sets it deals with places that stay visible even on a finished model with the glazing closed, so its benefit is not hidden inside the fuselage.
The F series brought reworked cooling. The radiators under the wing received split flaps and boundary layer suction, thanks to which the underside of the wing looks quite different from that of the previous Emil. A retractable tailwheel was added and the tail struts disappeared. Injection-molded plastic manages these thin flaps, grilles and covers only in rough outline, because a mold needs draft and a certain minimum wall thickness.
Exterior metal is fitted to surfaces that are still to be sanded and finished, so the order of the work decides the result. First finish filling and sanding the seams, and only then fit it. Apply a drop of glue to the part, not to the model, so that any excess does not escape into the engraved lines. Before finishing, degrease the whole surface, so that the primer holds equally on plastic and on metal. Bend long flaps in one continuous movement, because doing it in stages will produce a ripple at the edge that you will no longer straighten.
