The resin Quickboost set in 1:72 scale contains an accurately cast oil cooler for the American Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter. It is not an aircraft model but an aftermarket detail part that replaces the simplified plastic part from a kit and gives the cooling system a more convincing structure.
The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was a massive American fighter of the Second World War with a radial engine and a turbocharger. Its cooling and oil system made up a prominent feature of the fuselage and the front of the aircraft. A faithfully cast cooler with ribbing and sharp edges looks better in a small scale than a smooth plastic part.
Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water before gluing so that the mold release agent from the mold disappears. Separate it from the casting block with a saw or a knife; do not snap it off. It is glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Do the sanding and cutting with respiratory protection, because resin dust is harmful to health.
This is a resin detail part, not a stand-alone model. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package.
