The 1:48 F-14B Tomcat windshield TFace masking set from the Czech maker Eduard. The cut covers the outer and the inner side of the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a kit but an add-on to a model. The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the front protective windshield of the Grumman F-14B Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that Eduard supplies the inner counterparts along with the outer masks, so you can mask the framing from both sides.
Why it pays to mask from the inside too
The cockpit frame is not done in the camouflage shade on the inside but in the interior color. When only the outside is masked, plastic or camouflage shows through under the glazing and the whole cockpit looks unfinished. With TFace you spray the inside of the frame in the interior color, turn the part over and spray the camouflage on from the outside.
First wash the glazing of fingerprints and grease and let it dry completely. Carry the masks with pointed tweezers, press them down all around the edge and smooth the transition with a toothpick, so that no paint creeps under the edge. Spray in several very thin coats, ideally perpendicular to the edge of the mask. Take the mask off while the paint is still fresh, pulling at a low angle. Fit the inner masks before the glazing is glued into the fuselage.
