A resin detail set of the Quickboost brand from Aires for models of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the F and G versions, in 1:32 scale. The set adds the early type of tropical dust filter, which was fitted over the supercharger intake on machines committed to Africa and the Mediterranean. It is not an airplane model but a resin accessory in its own right.
The Bf 109 was the backbone of the German fighter force in the Second World War. Machines serving in the dusty North African environment were given a tropical filter (Tropen) on the intake, which protected the engine from taking in sand. The early type of filter had a characteristic shape different from the later versions.
Wash the part free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting block and clean up the mating surface. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and protect your airways when sanding resin. The filter is offered for building a tropicalized version and goes with a matching desert camouflage.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The glue, the paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
