Accessory sets of this kind deal with the places where injection-molded plastic runs into its limits: thin sheet, grilles, instrument panels, buckles and belts, small exterior fittings. In 1:32 scale the effect is particularly noticeable, because both the interior and the landing gear bays are clearly visible on a finished model. A pack of this type therefore usually covers several areas of the model at once and saves hunting down the individual sets one by one.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret on a hard surface with a sharp knife or nipping pliers and never tear them out. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two razor blades, so that the edge is sharp and straight. Bond with super glue applied with a pin in a minimal amount; on larger areas an alternative is a two-part glue with a longer setting time, which lets you adjust the part. Degrease the areas before gluing, as bare metal only holds paint once a primer has been sprayed on. Pre-painted parts, on the other hand, should be left as they are and protected from sanding.
