A set of resin exhaust stacks for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G and K series in 1:32 scale from the maker Quickboost. It is a precisely cast replacement for the exhausts on the sides of the engine cowling, not a stand-alone aircraft model. The detail part replaces the coarser exhausts from a base kit and gives them a truer shape with open outlets.
The late Bf 109 fighters of the G (Gustav) and K series were powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. Its exhaust gases were led away by rows of short exhaust stacks along the sides of the cowling. This set reproduces them more crisply and with open outlets, which looks more realistic than a solid injection-molded part and stands up better to a close look in a large scale.
Resin parts call for more careful work: wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting block carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Paint the exhausts in a combination of rust shades, dark metal and burnt steel, add a weathered pigment and soot streaks running aft so that they look worn in service.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
