The set from Eduard is an accessory, not a model kit. It provides engine exhaust stacks for the Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 in 1:32 scale, printed in resin with modern 3D technology. The parts are made specifically for the Bf 109K-4 kit from Kotare and replace its plastic exhaust stacks. You need the base model to build it — the set alone does not make an aircraft.
Exhaust stacks are one of the most exposed spots for the eye on single-engine fighters. Injection-molded plastic, though, cannot make them hollow: the mold cannot open at this spot, so the exhaust outlets usually come out blanked off. This set fixes exactly that. 3D printing allows for hollow, open ends of the exhaust pipes with a thin wall, along with sharp surface detail of welds and flanges. At the large 1:32 scale, this is a difference visible at first glance — and it does away with the tedious drilling out of plastic parts with a micro-drill.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a stand-alone kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
