A masking package for the twin-engine Messerschmitt Bf 110C heavy fighter in a large scale. It includes the long cockpit greenhouse handled from both faces, three national insignia stencils and a decal sheet.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110C was meant to be a heavy escort fighter that would reach where single-engine machines could not. A pair of Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines gave it decent speed and the concentrated armament in the nose a devastating burst, but over England it turned out that in a turning fight it had no chance against nimble single-seat fighters. It then found its place as a night hunter and as an attack machine on the Eastern Front.
The masking covers the long glazed fairing from the outside and the inside, and three insignia stencils and a supplementary decal sheet are enclosed. The amount of glazing on this type is considerably greater than on single-seat machines.
The cockpit of this machine is made up of several separate sections with gaps between them. Do not try to manage it in a single run. Apply and press down the front windscreen first, then the middle section and finally the rear part with its circular frame. Cover the resulting gaps with narrow strips of crepe masking tape so that paint does not run into the joints. Once you have closed the whole thing up, go round the perimeter once more and check against the light that no slit is showing anywhere.
