A colored 3D printed set of the interior from Quinta Studio in 1:32 scale focused on the compartments of the navigator, the bombardier and the waist and tail gunners of the Boeing B-17E/F bomber. The details are printed on a carrier decal paper, rendered in color and transferred onto the model by soaking in water: this is neither photo-etch nor resin. The set covers several combat stations of the crew at once.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress had a numerous crew placed throughout the fuselage: the navigator and the bombardier in the front part, the waist and tail gunners at the defensive stations. Every place had its own equipment, panels and armament. In the large 1:32 scale these sections become a prominent part of a model and a colored 3D interior gives them a realistic look without laborious hand painting.
Go over the surfaces of the interior with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the part out of the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss varnish, while on intricate shapes a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Work with a sharp knife and a soft pressing tool, and seat the interior before the fuselage is closed.
This is a set of 3D decals of the interior; the model of the aircraft and the paints are not included in the package.
