The SPACE range set by Eduard combines color 3D decals with raised relief on backing paper with supplementary color photo-etched parts in steel. It is intended for detailing the interior of a model of the de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth trainer biplane in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail set for both open cockpits.

The real subject

The Tiger Moth was a British trainer biplane of the 1930s on which a great many wartime pilots learned to fly. The open cockpits with their clearly visible instrument panels and belts offer rewarding scope for superdetailing in a large scale.

Use

• The 3D decals of the instrument panels and consoles have no adhesive layer of their own: only the backing paper is moistened and the part is transferred with tweezers onto white PVA glue.
• The photo-etched metal parts (belts, small controls) are glued with super glue, which the manufacturer does not recommend for the 3D decals.
• The relief decals add color and depth with no laborious painting; do not use a decal softener on them, as its chemicals attack the printed part.
